Privacy policy
Effective 28 September 2026
The short version: Windowsill doesn't collect, store or share any personal data. There are no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking. Your garden is saved only on your iPhone. The only thing the app sends anywhere is an anonymous check for game updates.
What the app stores, and where
Everything you do in Windowsill (your plants, their names, your rooms, your dew and your settings) is saved on your device only. It never leaves your phone and we can't see it. If you delete the app, this data is deleted with it.
What the app doesn't do
- No sign-up or account, so no name, email address or password.
- No advertising, and no advertising identifiers.
- No analytics, crash-reporting or tracking services.
- No location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone access.
- No selling or sharing of data with anyone, because there's none to share.
Reminders
If you turn on reminders, Windowsill asks iOS for permission to send notifications. Reminders are scheduled on your phone from your plants' needs, and no server is involved. You can turn them off in the app's settings or in the iOS Settings app at any time.
App updates
To get new rooms, plants and fixes without a trip to the App Store, Windowsill checks for updates when it opens. The update service is run by Expo (expo.dev). The check sends only technical details needed to deliver the right update: the app version, the iOS platform, the update channel and a random number that identifies this installation (not you) so the service can count active copies. It includes nothing about your garden or you, and Expo may briefly process your IP address to deliver the download.
When you email us
The app's "Send feedback" option opens your own email app with a message addressed to us. It may include basic details to help us fix problems, such as your iPhone model, iOS version, the app version and a few game details (how many plants you have and which rooms), and you can read or edit it before sending. Nothing is sent unless you press send. We use your email only to reply and to improve Windowsill, and we'll delete it if you ask.
This website
windowsill.getwaterme.com uses no cookies, analytics or trackers. It's hosted by Cloudflare, which may briefly process technical information such as your IP address to deliver and protect the site. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when fonts are downloaded.
Children
Windowsill is suitable for all ages. Because it doesn't collect personal information from anyone, it doesn't collect any from children.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date above before the change reaches the app.
